Saying Goodbyes

We already said our goodbyes in Sanya yesterday (5th April). It was good to have Jo Kim here in Senegal and he was here with us in Kaffrine and Sanya to discuss things about the ministry and house. They plan to be back in Kaffrine in August.

We will also say goodbye to our animals soon - Tuesday (8th April). We could not find anyone to look after our dogs for the time we are on furlough but there is a family that would like to have them parmanently. They are from the States working with the Lutheran church in Linguere, another town in Senegal. It's sad and we will miss Sparky and Mei Mei very much.

We are so glad to be able to finish the 52 stories with this group. They now understand that Jesus is the Saviour of the world and came to reconcile us to God. We also had the opportunity to show the film of the gospel of John during Easter. Please pray for them as we hope to challenge them to accept and follow Jesus as their personal Saviour. Each of them has a copy of the Wolof New Testament.

We are glad to witness 2 baptism during Easter. One of them is a lady that used to work for the Kims. Jo and Mi Kim always trusted that God would one day touch her heart and show her (Rama) – “the right way". Through the encouragement of other Christians, Rama took the step of faith and we all had the joy to witness her baptism this Easter.

This really encourages us to pray without ceasing and continue to be a testimony to people wherever we are.

Christmas 2007

On 25 December 2007, we had our Christmas gathering in one of the village called Tobene, which is about 3 km from Sanya. We had our gathering in one of the believer's home. He is the only believer in the village and was baptist just a week before Christmas.

There were people coming from 3 different villages and Kaffrine town. It was good time where we read the Word of God and sing some songs to praise the Lord. Then we shared lunch together. We praised God for people that came for this meeting though not all are believers. We invited few people from Sanya to come but only our host, A. Ndao and his child came for the meeting.

Prayer Requests for December 07

Please pray for the people that comes for the story groups, that they will continue to have interest to listen to the bible stories.
The Christmas program that we will have in a village with local believers. Pray that it will be a special time as we remember Christ's birth.
Continue to pray for Eben's health.
God's provision for our support so that we can stay on until June 08.
Wisdom and strength for the ministy in Sanya, and protection as we travels there.

This story group started in September 07.
They are mostly women & children.
We have 6 women who are consistent in listening to the bible stories 2 times a week
(Wednesday & Saturday afternoon).

We now started to study the story of Jesus.

Clinic In Sanya

This clinic was build by our Korean team members, Jo & Mi Kim (nurse).

Before we have this clinic, Mi Kim use to consult patients in a small classroom.

The building was finished in June 2007.

The Kims now are on furlough so Foong Chan is managing the clinic at the moment.

Last 2 months, it was busy for us at the clinic especially with people sick from malaria.

Now, as the rainy season is over, there are not many patients.

Nowadays, we have sick people with colds, cough, diarrhoea, etc.
